A Texas Tech police officer has filed his intent to resign from the department and according to Kevin Lawrence, Deputy Director of the Texas Municipal Police Association, a half-dozen more officers are expected to follow suit.
Lawrence says a number of officers are disgruntled after Friday's press conference where the university announced Jay Parchman would continue to serve as chief. That came just days after a survey by current and former employees showed a 91% disapproval rate concerning Parchman's managerial skills.
Meanwhile, the university is making plans to create an advertising and recruiting budget for the police department.
