The Texas Historical Commission is celebrating 50 years of service, and Lubbock is included in the festivities.

For the next few weeks, you might see special banners waving proudly on the Lubbock County Courthouse and Lubbock Lake Landmark.

Lubbock County received the honor for its continued effort in preserving the Texas heritage.
