BROWNFIELD, TX (KCBD) -

With the natural ability to run and the desire to help others, Whitney Henderson hopes to help raise money for charity, and her journey will bring her right through West Texas.

Her journey began in Ft. Lauderdale and will end on the southern coast of California where Whitney plans to run over 30 miles a day, for 3 months. Her goal is to help raise $40,000 dollars for two charities: Soles4souls and Charity:Water.

She is passing right through West Texas, where she has made stops in Tahoka and Snyder. Her run will bring her right through Brownfield. With hospitality from different communities and her drive to help others, Whitney is hoping to make her dream a reality by September 5th. If she reaches this goal, she will be the youngest female ever to complete a solo cross country run.

For for information on Whitney's journey and the charities she is hoping to raise money for, you can find information at Mycharitywater and Soles4souls.
