Plainview Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A Plainview man is charged with the attempted murder of his ex-wife.

According to police, 44-year-old Jose Manuel Nevarez demanded his ex-wife drive him to a detox facility in Amarillo. When she refused, he allegedly threatened her with a knife.

Nevarez is also charged with child endangerment, because their two children were home at the time of the incident.

As of Friday night, Nevarez remained in Hale County Jail on $25,000 dollars bond.
