Opening Day for Academy Sports

From skateboarding to practically every other sport a new store in town has equipment for it all. Academy Sports and Outdoors celebrated their grand opening on Saturday.

From bicycles, to pool tables, to something new to wear, Academy Manager Randy Barfield says the store has something for every athlete and those who wish they were. "We carry all the team sports, we have a golf shop and fitness. We also carry 750 styles of footwear, we have a huge apparel department that could stand alone if it needed to and we also carry camping, hunting and fishing."

Academy is located at 19th St. and West Loop 289.
