A Thanksgiving celebration came early for people of all different cultures Sunday. At Z'ba's Mediterranean Restaurant, Tech's Intercultural Dialog Association held a Ramadan and Thanksgiving dinner.
The group organized a year ago to raise awareness of diversity in our society and take a step toward getting to know each other and their differences better. The dinner included a presentation about Ramadan, the Muslim holiday which is celebrated all this month, and the bonding of different cultures.
"We believe that we need more mutual understanding and more different aspects of society. To achieve that goal, we have organized a couple of programs," says Mehmet Dogan, Intercultural Dialog Association.
The group hopes eventually people of different faiths and cultures will fit into the Lubbock community equally.
