LUBBOCK,TX (KCBD) -
For now a threat to the Big 12 Conference with huge implications here in Lubbock is back under control. The Fort Worth Star Telegram reports that Big 12 Athletic Directors met and agreed to a one-year delay on letting the Texas Longhorns broadcast high school games on their upcoming TV network.
Texas A&M and Oklahoma University both threatened to leave the Big 12 if there had not been an agreement. The schools say the Longhorn Network gives UT an unfair recruiting advantage. Texas Tech is one of 10 schools that survived a threatened breakup of the Big 12 last year.
