Rock the Block Party hosted by Salvation Army

From the Salvation Army of Lubbock:

The Salvation Army is excited to announce that Kool Smiles and Mr. Gatti's has joined efforts in this year's Salvation Army's Rock the Block Party on Tuesday night from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

This year's events will be a free night of safe, family fun celebration that hopes to motivate people to leave their homes and join their neighbors for an evening of good fun. There will be hot dogs, water slides, sand volleyball, and many more fun free events for everyone to enjoy.

Musical guest include the Experience Life Worship Band and The Heights Fellowship Worship Band featuring Ryze. If you would like to participate in all the fun, join all your neighbors at Dave Freriks park located at 1600 Ave. K (16th St. and Ave. K downtown Lubbock).

    It has been nine years since the death of Corporal D. Robert Harvey. He was killed in the line of duty on April 26, 2009. He was involved in a fiery crash just after midnight and was trapped inside of his patrol car. The horrific collision happened at MLK and 88th.
