SLATON, TX (KCBD) -
Two people are hospitalized after a serious accident on Highway 84 in Slaton.
Witnesses tell Slaton Police that Theodore Fenko, 46, was driving west at an excessive speed. Slaton Police Chief Steven Wheeler says Fenko lost control of the vehicle and hit the guardrails before striking another passenger car driven by Roberta Clark, 44.
Fenko was airlifted to Covenant Medical Center. Clark was transported to UMC.
Their conditions were not available as of 3:30 Wednesday.
The accident remains under investigation. Westbound lanes of highway 84 were closed for 45 minutes while investigators worked on the scene.
