When a child is born with asthma, you hope they will grow out of the wheezing symptoms and difficulty breathing...usually, they do.
However, Hannah Keaty, an O.L. Slaton student, has suffered from asthma her whole life. She says it's helped a lot for her to go to Camp Zone, which is a full day of summer fun. The camp is just for kids with asthma.
Hannah said, "I've always believed having asthma would always affect you doing everything, but it's really telling you that even if you have asthma, you can do anything just like any normal kid.
Camp Zone is for kids with asthma between the ages of 7 and 11. It includes swimming, skating, and just learning to live with asthma.
The camp is this Thursday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, but you need to call to reserve your spot so they'll have enough goodies, including an asthma bracelet for every camper. That number is (806) 799-4192.
