Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing at LIA

A tense situation over Lubbock skies ended safely Thursday night with an emergency landing at Lubbock International Airport.

A twin engine aircraft was forced to land in Lubbock after ice built up on the surface of the aircraft. LIA Aviation Director, John McGinley says ice can reduce aerodynamic and engine performance of an aircraft.

The twin engine plane was en route to Arlington from Long Beach, California.
