The Snyder Police Officer who was nearly killed in the line of duty last month is making huge strides in his recovery, his family says.
Corporal Darrell Campbell's wife, Amber, tells KCBD NewsChannel 11 that her husband is now talking. She says he is responding very well to his therapy, and she calls him a "miracle."
Campbell, 41, was responding to a call of shots fired when police say Dwayne Birmingham shot him in the head. Birmingham was then killed by Campbell's partner.
Since the shooting, Campbell has spent several weeks in the hospital, and he is now recovering in a Lubbock rehabilitation center.
