Levelland Murder Suspect Jailed

A Levelland woman accused of murdering her own daughter is now behind bars.

Last week, a Hockley County Grand Jury indicted 18-year-old Angela Zamora for the death of 1-year-old Melanie Rodriguez. Last Friday, Levelland authorities enlisted the help of Lubbock Police to locate Zamora. She was reported to be staying at a home in the 2200 block of 39th Street.

According to police reports, Zamora resisted the officer's efforts to contact her, so police had to use force to enter the home and take Zamora into custody.

Monday, she remains in the Lubbock County Jail.
