LISD Track/Cross Country teams and WPS pairing up for a good cause

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LISD cross country and track teams are partnering with Women's Protective Services for a 'Back to School 5k Bash".  The event not only benefits the teams, but also benefits Woman's Protective Services.

Participants of the event will be donating much needed items to WPS as part of an entry fee. Normally the teams would sale fireworks as part of a way to raise money for their teams, but because of lack of rain and massive drought there was a ban put on the sale of fireworks. As part of a way to help raise money, the teams are asking to please participate in this event.

If you would like to participate, meet at the Coronado Track located at 3307 Vicksburg Ave. at 10am August 20th. For more information contact Lubbock Coronado Track/Cross Country coach Tim Torres at (806) 239-2574.
