Hundreds of the Red Raider faithful attended Fan Day Saturday at the United Spirit Arena. Fans of all ages showed up in support of their favorite Texas Tech athletes and coaches, but it was the players who enjoyed it almost as much as their admiring devotees.

"To see some of these kids have the same dreams we do, at their age, and to encourage them and help them accomplish those dreams is a good deal," said a smiling Alex Torres. "It gets us excited to interact with fans like gets us fired up and ready to go."

The junior wide receiver wasn't the only one excited about the afternoon off practice to socialize with their beloved fans.

"It's incredible to see all the support we do have," said former Frenship star quarterback Seth Doege. "We put in a lot of hard work, and it's good to know people support us, come out here, and want our autographs."

"I would have loved this, I never got a chance to experience anything like this; if I was a little kid, I would have eaten it up."

Not only was the football team and coaches in attendance, the volleyball team and new head coach Don Flora also greeted the smiling faces and autograph requests.

"I grew up in Arizona, so we'd always go to the University of Arizona signing days with my brother," said senior volleyball player, Karlyn Meyers. "It meant the world to think [athletes] are the greatest thing ever."
