Water rates will increase for Lubbock citizens

Posted: Updated:

If you live in Lubbock, your water rates are going up. The city has promised bond rating agencies that it will raise rates to cover debt for both the Lake Alan Henry project as well as well water projects in Roberts County.

In the coming months the monthly meter charge will go up more than seven percent. If you have a 3-quarter inch meter your base charge will go from $28 to $30 dollars per month.

If you have a one-inch meter your base charge goes up from $46.74 to $50.08. Another base rate charge is already on the books for 2014 and a volume rate increase in the works for the year 2015.
