LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Corporal Darrell Campbell, the Snyder Police officer who was shot in the head back in July, continues to recover at a rapid speed. Campbell's wife says her husband will undergo surgery this coming Monday to replace a part of his skull that was taken out the day he was shot.
Campbell was shot in the line of duty by Dwayne Birmingham while responding to a report of shots fired. The shooter was killed by Campbell's partner. Since the shooting, Campbell, 41, has been recovering in a Lubbock Rehabilitation Center.
Campbell's wife, Amber, says she suspects her husband will be able to go home sooner than originally thought as he continues to respond well to his rehabilitation.
