UMC EMS launches fleet of ambulances with a new look
Lubbock drivers need to be particularly cautious over the next two weeks when they hear ambulance sirens. Lubbock EMS will change its name and the look of their ambulances.
Vinyl wraps on the service's fleet and employee uniforms will be updated to reflect the name change and will transition into service in the next two weeks.
Though the name has changed, UMC stresses that the service has not.
"UMC EMS responds to 27,000 emergency calls a year," said Dr. Joe Sasin, medical director of UMC EMS and the UMC Emergency Center. "We're proud of this quality service, which has exceptional response times and patient outcomes. As a Level 1 trauma center, the provision of pre-hospital care is very important and is a crucial part of the health system's mission."
