South Plains Food Bank Celebrates 20 Years

The South Plains Food Bank is celebrating two decades of "caring and sharing."

117,355,604. That's the total number of pounds distributed by the South Plains Food Bank over the last 20 years, and that number just keeps on growing.

Right now, the South Plains Food Bank is gearing up for its annual U-Can Share Food Drive. And as always, NewsChannel 11 is proud to be by their side. The drive kicks off December 1st, with a goal of 500,000 pounds of food, and $100,000 in cash donations.

The Lubbock Public Libraries are also doing their part to help the South Plains Food Bank. For a limited time only, the library will accept canned food in place of late fees. One can of food will be accepted for each dollar owed. The offer is good November 29th through December 7th at any of the four library locations.
