Texas Tech University is set to play host to Texas A&M University on October 8th. With A&M's departure from the Big XII, that game will be the very last conference game between the two schools.
Tickets to that game don't go on sale until Monday, September 5th. However, many season ticket holders are turning to the web to make some money from the game. On E-Bay, some tickets are selling for as high as $770.00.
"It's always a big game for us, but I honestly have not had time to digest the info from today, but obviously there is a perception that this is the last time they will ever be here so certainly that will raise demand to a fever pitch," Dave Welsh with the Texas Tech Ticket Office said.
Welsh says the tickets to the game are already considered "premium" which means they will likely sell quickly. However, when you couple the premium status, along with the news of A&M's departure from the Big XII, the ticket office expects the tickets to sell out fast.
While individual tickets to the game don't go on sale until Labor Day, you do have the chance to purchase the tickets as part of a package or season ticket offer. For more on that, visit: www.texastech.com
