An elderly woman is lucky to be alive after she was rescued from her burning home in east Lubbock Wednesday. Danielle Anderson, 72, is in critical condition at UMC with burn injuries and smoke inhalation.
The Lubbock woman who was rescued from a burning home last month, Danielle Anderson, 72, has been upgraded from critical condition to serious condition at University Medical Center.
Justin Skelton, 31, an administrator at the Dunbar College Preparatory Academy, just happened to be in the area of Anderson's home in the 1800 block of East 26th Street. With help from another man, Skelton kicked in the front door of the home and pulled Anderson from the burning home.
Skelton said at the time he was not looking to be hero but instead, "if we could get a happy ending that would be the best thing."
