Former State School employee was back in court Thursday

A former Lubbock State School employee accused of killing two of his co-workers was back in court Thursday.  This time for a hearing to consider whether his trial should be moved out of Lubbock.

Attorneys for 61 year old Mickey Patterson say he can not get a fair trial in Lubbock.  Patterson is on trial for capital murder.  He is accused of murdering Peggy Merimon and Kay Harrelson back in August of 2006.

The two women went missing from the Lubbock State School where they worked.  Harrelson's body was recovered 11 days after she went missing.  The body of Peggy Merimon was found last year.  Patterson's attorneys say after years of media coverage and massive search efforts the trial should be heard elsewhere.

While there was no decision today, they hope to have a decision by next week.
