Texas State came to play and they jolted the Red Raiders by taking a 10-0 lead. However, Seth Doege and the offense went on a don't blink 3 play 60 yard drive that took a mere 43 seconds, ending with a TD toss to Freshman Bradley Marquez. Then the Tech defense forced a safety to cut the Bobcats lead to 1, 10-9 at the half.
in the third, Doege hooked up with Darrin Moore who had a busy and productive day to give Tech their first lead of the season. the 2 point try failed and it was 15-10. Then Eric Stephens ran 46 yards for a touchdown to give the Red Raiders a 22-10 advantage.
Stephens short td run on the last play of the third quarter stretched the lead to 29-10. He rushed for 118 yards and 2 scores.
Wide Receiver Darrin Moore was Doege's favorite target hauling in 12 catches for 221 yards and a touchdown.
The Red Raiders now go into their bye week and next visit New Mexico September 17th.
