Police blame red light running on motorcycle accident

Posted: Updated:

Police have released new details in a Monday afternoon motorcycle accident at North Loop 289 and Slide Road.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries, but is expected to recover.   A passenger in the car suffered minor injuries.  Both were taken from the scene by EMS.

On Tuesday police identified the motorcycle rider as Zachary Guinn, 21.  He was going south on Slide when police say the driver of a car, Barry Ganoy 59, ran a red light and pulled out in front of Guinn.  A written summary from police says Ganoy was cited for "running the red light and no insurance."

University Medical Center says Guinn recovered well enough to be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
