Lamesa Widow Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The widow of a South Plains truck driver has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her husband's employer, following a deadly explosion in Lamesa last week.

Fifty-four year-old Roman Oballe Sr. was delivering fuel to Hatchett Backhoe Construction in Lamesa last Monday, when the truck caught fire. The lawsuit claims Oballe's death was caused by unreasonably dangerous conditions associated with the fuel truck provided by his employer, Trio Fuels, Inc.

The incident is currently under investigation.
