Texas Prison Gang Linked to South Plains Murders

Lubbock Police continue their search for two suspected members of a Texas prison gang.

Ellen Contreras and David Uriegas are two of four people accused of killing 36-year-old Fernando Paredez in the middle of a Central Lubbock street back in 2001. The other two suspects, Raymond Maldonado and Francisco Calderon, are already in custody.

Lubbock Police believe the Texas Syndicate Prison Gang may also be linked to the murder of a Plainview man. The body of Manuel Rivera III was found last June on a dirt road, NorthEast of Plainview.

If you have any information about this crime, or the whereabouts of the two suspects still at large, call Detective Rey Martinez at the Lubbock Police Department at 775-2405.
