The United Way has surpassed this year's campaign goal and raised the most money ever by the Lubbock organization.
Wednesday afternoon, campaign chairman Jim Gilbreath announced a final total: $4,557,114. That's nearly $14,000 more than last year, and $5,600 more than this year's goal.
The United Way provides funds to 23 agencies in Lubbock county. Agencies that provide services to children, seniors, victims of abuse, and the homeless.
