Salvation Army Serves an Army of Hundreds

Salvation Army volunteers are washing dishes and scrubbing pans after serving Thanksgiving lunch to hundreds.

Volunteers served turkey, vegetables, and pie to 450 people. The annual meal is an effort to help out those who would not be able to celebrate Thanksgiving otherwise. Volunteers say it's way to count their blessings and give thanks. Mike Moseley, a Salvation Army volunteer says, "People helped me when I was growing up and I was blessed. God blessed me with a business so I feel that I can give back to the community by coming down here to the Salvation Army each year and helping out and stuff like that."

The Salvation Army will serve dinner on Christmas as well. If you would like to volunteer or donate food for that event, call the Salvation Army at 765-9434.
