Thousands Descend on South Plains Mall

Thousands of shoppers made their way to the South Plains Mall on Friday to get a head start on their holiday buying.

'Tis the season to spend money.

"We're shopping for Christmas presents for all of our family," says Toni Marie Hilburn.

And bargaining their way to a shopper's heaven.

"Lots of toys, lots of clothes, lots of money," says Toni.

"Sticking to my list, checking it twice, and with some determination, have it finished hopefully in a couple of hours," says Pati Jones.

Last year, the South Plains had over 60,000 shoppers, and this year, they're hoping for the same shoppers.

"There's a lot of people out here. It's getting kind of hot in here," says Toni.

No kidding. If you're not careful, you might get lost in a sea of hungry shoppers.

Some determined shoppers won't call it a day until they've finished all their shopping.

"I'm not leaving until I do," says Linda Quaid.

"Oh okay, so we may be here all day, we may be here 'til 9:00," says Sharon Hammond.

Stores in the South Plains Mall will be offering specials and clearances throughout the weekend.
