LUBBOCK,TX (KCBD) -
Lubbock police were led on a foot chase through the Wal-Mart parking lot Tuesday afternoon after responding to a random shots fired call at 4215 South Loop.
While responding to the call, an officer noticed a stolen vehicle in the Wal Mart parking lot with a 15-year-old male inside. The officer handcuffed the teen , who proceeded to run away on foot. After a short chase, the suspect was arrested.
Police have identified the teen as a listed runaway.
The suspect was apparently playing with a pistol in the car when it accidentally discharged. No injuries were reported.
Police spokesman Jonathan Stewart said police believe the suspect burglarized a home on 54th Street near the store and then drove a stolen vehicle to the Wal-Mart parking lot.
