Fiestas Patrias Festival kicks off this Thursday

LUBBOCK,TX (KCBD) -

This weekend is the 2011 Fiestas Patrias Festival here in Lubbock. The events kick off Thursday evening in Guadalupe Park, located on 2nd Street and Ave. P, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Friday night, the Miss Hispanic Lubbock Pageant will be held at the Lubbock Civic Center Theater at 7 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday the Civic Center will host a parade, a car show, and there will be lots of food and music for you to enjoy.

Schedule of events:

Thursday, Sept. 15
5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Guadalupe Park "Grito de Independencia" by Bishop Placido Rodriguez Grito Ceremony is being hosted by the Guadalupe Neighborhood Association. 

Friday, Sept. 16
Miss Hispanic Lubbock Pageant Lubbock Civic Center Theater
7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Admission: $5.00 per person

Saturday, Sept. 17
10 a.m. - Fiestas del Llano Parade
Route will be from First Baptist Church on Broadway & Ave. W, down to Ave. M then North
to the Civic Center Parking lot.

11 a.m. - 3 p.m.   Food booths open to Public   NO ADMISSION Until 3 p.m.

4 p.m. - GATE FEE: $5.00 PER Person
Family of 4 - $15.00 – $2.00 For Each Additional Family Member
Senior Citizen (65 Years & Over) - $3.00

5 p.m. - 6 p.m. - Mariachi Cuatro Vientos
6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. - Los Hermanos Arausa
7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. - Mariachi Amistad
8:45 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. - Epifanio Ochoa & Medicos
10 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. - Los Hermanos Farias
12 Midnight - Fiestas Closes Down

Sunday, Sept. 18

11:00 a.m. - Food Booths Open To Public
