The South Plains Fair brings a variety of entertainment, shows, food, and rides back to the South Plains this year.
The entertainment lineup ranges from Grand Funk Railroad to Easton Corbin, and back to K-Ci and JoJo with several other favorites, as well as Kevin Fowler, Halestorm, Elida Renya with Jesse Turner, and Los Palominos. Others include, Loverboy and Hot Chelle Rae.
Free ground attractions like the familiar acts, Wild about Monkeys, and Rock-It the Robot are back along with other exciting new performances, including old and new Livestock shows like Milking Shorthorn Cattle.
The fair also invites you to take a stroll around the grounds to see their outside commercial vendors and tour the Merchants Building while glancing at the hundreds of various products they have to offer. The buildings are open every day from 11a.m. to 10p.m.
South Plains Fair is also thrilled to announced five new organizations and their food items including Frenship Choir Boosters Club with brisket wraps and brisket sandwiches,the Lubbock Arts Alliance with strawberry yummies, Lubbock Professional Firefighters Association with shaved ice and sausage wraps, St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church with cotton candy, and St. John Neumann Catholic Church with mini donuts.
The Fair runs September 23 to October 1 this year, and is open from Monday-Friday, 1p.m.-11p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 10a.m. to midnight.
Promo Days consist of: Buck a Ride Nite, September 22, 6p.m.-11p.m.; Family Day, all day, September 25; Senior Citizens Day, all day, September 27; Food Bank Day, all day, September 27. Details are included online at www.southplainsfair.com.
Admission price for adults 13 and over is $8.00; youth, 2-12 is $3.00; children under two years of age get in for free. Parking is $5.00.
