Chilly, gusty conditions mark last day of Summer

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

There is a chill in the air as Lubbock welcomes the last day of Summer. Fall officially begins tomorrow at 4:04 a.m.

Today begins chilly, gusty, with widely scattered showers and thundershowers, so you have a chance of rain - as well as lightning and small hail. This afternoon will be a little cool, with some sunshine returning to the area. As I mentioned yesterday, the Panhandle South Plains Fair gets underway later today with its Preview Evening. The Fair opens officially tomorrow, and I still expect warm afternoons and comfortably cool evenings through the weekend.

For more on the cooler, then warmer, afternoons coming up, check out the KCBD Weather page at http://www.kcbd.com/weather.
