Health inspectors surprised more than a dozen schools this week to make sure our local cafeterias are being kept clean. Most of the schools inspected this week came out with no critical violations, but one did make our low performer list.
Frenship Northridge at 6302 11th Place had one critical violation. Inspectors observed a small amount of mildew growth in the ice machine. It has since been washed, rinsed, and sanitized. Thursday we called the health department and they said the violation was corrected at the time of the inspection.
"Although we do not condone this situation," Frenship ISD said in statement, "please know that this particular device does not serve our students nor do students come into contact with this device. The situation has been resolved and we will be proactive in making sure it does not happen again."
