As of Monday night, the situation looked bleak if you were still in need of a flu shot, because manufacturers announced that they just didn't make enough to meet the overwhelming demand. But, Tuesday brought some good news.
The Lubbock Health Department has picked up an additional 70 doses of adult Flu vaccine. So on Wednesday morning, the department will continue its Flu clinic again, but this time, the Flu shot will only be provided to adults who are 65 years or older or to people with a high-risk medical condition like asthma, diabetes, or some other type of immuno-suppression.
If you meet those conditions, you can get the flu shot Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at the Lubbock Health Department Clinic at 1902 Texas Avenue. The cost is $10 and Medicare will be accepted.
If you can't make it by there Wednesday, UMC says it has come up with about 150 doses and nurses will be giving those Flu vaccines in UMC's mobile unit next Tuesday, December 16th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
