Texas Tech Stands to Get Millions in Federal Funds

More than $5.7 million in federal funds could soon help several projects at Texas Tech University.

The U.S. House approved the funds Monday, and the bill now awaits Senate approval before being sent to President Bush. If signed, the Wind Science Engineering research center would get nearly $1.9 million for several projects and the Tech Forensics Science Institute would receive almost $995,000 to expand the Institute's academic course offerings and degree programs.

Also, the Health Sciences Center would get more than $869,000 overall for various programs.
