  • Schizophrenia Shot

Regular use of medication is important for Schizophrenia patients. However, it's estimated that 75% miss their daily dose on a regular basis. A new medication delivery method is helping life stay in balance for some patients. Risperdal Consta is a new injectable version of Risperdal, a Schizophrenia medication. The injection is given once every two weeks. Patients in a clinical study at the University of New Mexico found the two week schedule easier to follow, and preferred not having to take pills every day.

  • Split Nails

The Harvard Women's Health Watch reports that nails that are otherwise healthy may be splitting thanks to dish washing. Repeatedly soaking and drying nails causes the layers of nail cells to swell and then shrink. Eventually they lose their ability to stick together and start to flake apart. Try protecting your hands with gloves when you do dishes, and use a moisturizer every time you get your hands wet.
