Amarillo, Texas - A pit bull kills a newborn baby in Amarillo.
AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - Amarillo police are investigating the death of an infant who died after being bitten by a dog.
Police tell the Amarillo Globe-News (http://bit.ly/ooyrDp) an autopsy was set for Tuesday in Lubbock.
Police say officers were sent early Monday morning to a local hospital after an 11-day-old baby was brought in with the life-threatening injuries. The infant later died at the hospital.
Police describe the dog as a pit bull/mastiff mix.
