Red Bud Lions Club Donates Thousands Of Toys To Lubbock Area Kids

More than 3,000 Lubbock area children will have a Christmas present this year, thanks to the Red Bud Lions Club.

The group donated more than 3,000 stuffed animals to 18 organizations Thursday night at the Hillcrest Country Club. Organizations such as the Women's Protective Services, the Salvation Army and Buckner Children's Home, all received a bag of bears to hand out to children.

One business that also received a bag was NewsChannel 11. Those toys will be donated to the "Christmas is for Kids" campaign going on right now at most local McDonald's restaurants. All toys collected benefit Children's Protective Services.

Through Sunday, anyone who donates a toy to a McDonald's location will receive a free liter of Coca-Cola.
