Abby Reed is happy to be home – and a member of the KCBD NewsChannel 11 team. She grew up dreaming of being a journalist and saying "Karin and Abner, back to you." A third-generation West Texan, Abby grew up just down the road in Amherst. Her parents, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles still live there.
Abby is a Texas Associated Press Broadcasters award winning journalist, who's stories have been featured on MSNBC, CNN Headline News, and ABC's 20/20. Most recently, she was the morning show anchor for the NBC station in Midland/Odessa.
News has been a passion for Abby since she was a child, watching Karin and Abner. She studied Journalism and Criminal Justice at Eastern New Mexico University. That's where she got her first official on-air reporting job at the age of 18 - when she began freelancing news reports for the ABC station in Albuquerque. Since then, she's worked as a reporter, anchor and producer for stations in Amarillo, Sherman, and Corpus Christi.
Abby has been married to her college sweetheart since 2006. The pair love to travel - especially to Denver where they are proud Denver Broncos season ticket holders!
