Some postal officials say Monday is their Super Bowl, the busiest mailing day of the year. The third Monday in December is traditionally the busiest day of the year for the U.S. Post Office.

By midnight, postal officials expect to postmark some 850-million pieces of mail. That's about 185-million pieces more than on a regular day.

Wednesday is expected to be the busiest mail delivery day.
