The City of Lubbock is about to borrow $89 million for various projects and Fitch also looked at $945 million of current debt. All of the debt is rated ‘AA+' which is "very high credit quality."

A federal appeals court sides in favor of Martha Ellerbrook in her legal battle against the City of Lubbock. Ellerbrook sued the city and in October of 2010 won a $243,000 jury verdict.
