LPD officer recovering after cruiser was hit on Saturday

Lubbock Police Officer Adam Freeman is recovering after his police cruiser was hit on Saturday. The accident happened just after midnight Saturday at 38th and University.

Investigators on the scene say 41-year-old Raymond Luna of Lubbock lost control of his truck and slammed into a police cruiser. He then ran his truck into another parked car where police apprehended him. Luna was given a field sobriety test and arrested at the scene. He was since been charged with intoxication assault. 

Officer Freeman was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries where he has been treated and released.
