SUV driver dies from chase injuries

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A driver who led Lubbock County sheriff's deputies on a deadly chase two weeks ago has died from his injuries.

28-year-old Felipe Rodriquez passed away Monday after crashing an SUV into a home and a utility pole near 82nd Street and I-27.

44-year-old Joseph Chance, a passenger in the SUV, died the day of the wreck.

Two other passengers in the SUV, Jonathan Trevino, 23, and Raymond Rodriguez, 45 were released from the hospital within a few days of the crash.

Police say some of the passengers had been drinking and were carrying drugs.

Officers say they began chasing the vehicle because it had an expired tag and registration.
