Pumpkin Trail almost halfway to goal

Provided by City of Lubbock:

The pumpkin count is underway, and we are almost halfway to our goal! To date, we have 914 pumpkins already committed to the trail! Our goal is 2,000 or more pumpkins! We'll provide the candles if you'll bring the pumpkins! You can help us create excitement for the Pumpkin Trail by calling in your commitment of carved pumpkins to "Pumpkin Central" at Maxey Community Center, 767-3796! Groups bringing 10 or more pumpkins will have a sign posted along the trail with their name or logo on it. Remember, the more carved pumpkins we get from the community, the longer the trail!

Deliver carved pumpkins to the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum on Wednesday, October 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Lubbock Memorial Arboretum is located at 4111 University and the delivery site is on the east side of the parking lot. Look for the "DELIVER PUMPKINS HERE" signs!

The Pumpkin Trail is October 20-23, 2011 in Clapp Park and is a free event for the whole family! The event is hosted by Parks and Recreation, the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum and the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center. Thank you to our sponsors: United Supermarkets, Betenbough Homes, McDougal Companies, Technically Nerds Computer Services, City Bank, Latino Lubbock Magazine, Baker Office Products, and the Lubbock Fun Club.
