At least five people were taken to the hospital following a major traffic accident in northeast Lubbock County Thursday afternoon.
Aerocare and the "Jaws of Life" were called to the intersection of Farm to Market roads 40 and 1729 just before three o'clock this afternoon. According to witnesses, that's where the driver of the car performed a rolling stop, before continuing into the intersection. Troopers say the van headed westbound had the right of way, and collided with the car at a high rate of speed.
Aerocare took one woman to the hospital. At least four other people were transported by ambulance.
