Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens are asking for your help in locating the suspects in the shooting of trumpeter swans near Lockney. Last Saturday, Texas game wardens were notified of 5 trumpeter swans found near the water treatment plant there. Two of the swans were dead, three of them injured. The birds were shot by an unknown number of suspects with a shotgun and left to die.
Trumpeter swans are not condsidered endangered in Texas but are what's called a protected non-game bird. It is against the law to kill them. Now the search is on for the person or persons involved in the shooting.
