LP&L Communications Director Chris Simms says last night's dust storm was one of the worst situations he has ever seen.
"In my 20 years in Lubbock, this is the worst situation I have ever seen because it happened so fast and so dramatic," Simms said.
3300 electric meters were out in Lubbock last night, but crews worked through the night reducing the number of electric meters out by 10:30 p.m..
LP&L says all power should have been restored by noon, but if for any reason you are still without power go ahead and contact LP&L and let them know.
"You may see a few lights flicker on and off, but it's because we are taking the temporary fixes we did last night and making them permanent," Simms said.
LP&L says many of the power outages were caused by trees that fell onto power lines.
"We had all of our crews out last night - over 40 lineman were out as soon as the storm passed," Simms explained.
"If for any reason you are still without power at this time you should contact our office," Simms said.
