A passenger at Dallas-Fort Worth international
Airport was caught on Thursday morning trying to smuggle a cache of weapons
into the facility.
According to Department of Homeland Security representative
Luis Casanova, Raymond Ritter had two pistols, three ammunition magazines,
eight knives and a hand saw. Casanova said Ritter had divided the items into
three carry-ons: a backpack, duffle bag and sleeping bag.
He said the
Transportation Security Administration spotted a suspicious item while X-raying
the bags. The TSA and local police found the contraband and arrested the man on
state charges, Casanova said.
No further details were immediately available.
