Engineering Technology building evacuated after acid spill

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Texas Tech confirms that the Engineering Technology building was evacuated Thursday night after a student discovered nitric acid mixed with some kind of waste product.

Texas Tech Communications Director Chris Cook confirms there were half a dozen people in the building when the spill was discovered, but no one was injured.

Everyone was safely evacuated. The cause of the spill has not yet been determined.
